Australian bowling sensation Brett Lee, who plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders as of now and also represented the Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League, has retired from international cricket. He has stated that even though he has retired from international cricket he will continue playing in the Indian Premier League and the Big Bash.

Australian fast bowler and former fastest bowler of the world Brett Lee has decided to hang his boots from all forms of international cricket for his country. He ended his career on the 13th of July, jokingly stating that it is the perfect way to end a 13 year career on Friday the 13th.

Brett Lee has had a very illustrious career for the Australians having played 221 One Day International matches picking up 380 wickets at a bowling average of 23.36.

He had played 76 Test matches and picked up 310 wickets at a bowling average of 30.81.
In all T20 competitions put together he has played a total of 60 games picking 49 wickets at an average of 36.77.

Sachin Tendulkar tweeted, “It’s been a joy to play against u Binga. Congratulations for a successful career…. All the best wishes to you for the future.”

To which he replied, “Yes mate it’s been fun. Thanks for all the hard battles on the pitch. You definitely brought the best out of me.”

So, as international cricket loses one more of its great performers, we wish Brett Lee a bright future in whatever he may peruse.
